Monthly inflation fell in June

The Melbourne Institute Monthly Inflation Gauge fell again in June, after consecutive rises in March and April. The fall was primarily influenced by lower transport-related prices, attributable largely to fuel. In annual terms, headline inflation was 3.9 per cent. The monthly cost of living declined for three of the five selected household types (age pensioners, other government transfer recipients, and pensioners and beneficiaries).
