Accommodation Event History data files

The Melbourne Institute has developed a program to create data files (based on housing calendar data) that may be used in alternative types of event history analysis.

Licensed data users can use the program (available in STATA or SAS format) with the Journeys Home dataset to create the following data files:

  1. ACCSPELL, a file with spell-level observations that can be used in descriptive event-history analyses or in multivariate event-history analyses with fixed (non-time-varying) covariates.
  2. ACCWSPELL, a file with wave-within-spell-level observations that can be used in continuous-time event-history analyses with covariates that are fixed within waves, yet may also vary across waves.
  3. ACC3SPELL, a file with third-of-a-month-within-spell-level observations that can be used in discrete-time event-history analyses with covariates that may vary by third-of-a month intervals (i.e. ten to eleven days).

For more information about analysing event history data, please refer to the Journeys Home event history file documentation.
