Demand for private health insurance among the elderly

Presented by Dr Judith Liu, recipient of the Richard Ivan Downing Fellowship

Can financial incentives encourage take-up of private health insurance among the elderly? Who are more responsive to the incentives? Over the past three decades, the Australian government has implemented several interventions to increase private health insurance coverage. This event will present analyses of the effectiveness of premium rebates targeted at the elderly and explore the different effects across socioeconomic groups.

On behalf of Professor Paul Kofman, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics and Melbourne Institute Director Professor A. Abigail Payne, it's our great pleasure to invite you to the upcoming Richard Ivan Downing Fellowship Colloquium.
