Labour Economics and Social Policy:
Research Partnerships

Social Policy Research Services

Between 2001 and 2014, the Melbourne Institute undertook more than 100 research projects in partnership with the Australian Government’s Department of Employment.

The projects investigated a broad range of labour market and social policy issues, with particular focus on the complex relationships between educational outcomes, employment and life stages.

Information sheets summarising the key findings of the research projects conducted between 2005 and 2010 are also available.

National VET Research and Evaluation Program

Between 2008 and 2013, the Melbourne Institute conducted a series of research projects as part of the National VET Research and Evaluation Program (NVETRE).

The projects explored a range of topics related to vocational education and training, and contributed to research exploring the links between VET participation and labour market outcomes, and the contribution of education and training to social inclusion.

The NVETRE Program is managed by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research.
