Abstract

Despite market reforms aimed at making Australian residential aged care more affordable and higher quality, competition in the market hasn’t improved quality or cost. This Research Insight uses the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) to examine how competition among providers is associated with quality of care and prices in the residential aged care sector.
