Abstract
While Australians have reported mixed feelings about wearing masks during the pandemic, it could be the measure that is needed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and put the national economy on the path to recovery. This Research Insight identifies the situations where physical distancing may not be feasible and discusses why mask-wearing can provide an extra barrier to avoid transmission of the virus.
