Abstract

The increasing incidence of natural disasters in Australia is leaving more and more people vulnerable each year. This Research Insight uses a study by researchers from the Melbourne Institute to demonstrate how adjustments to the tax treatment of donations can strengthen charitable giving among citizens and, subsequently, increase monetary support for disaster relief efforts.
