The Australian Health Economics Society (AHES) is pleased to announce that the Australian Health Economics Doctoral (AHED) Workshop will be once again held in conjunction with the AHES Conference.

The aim of the workshop is to gather PhD students in health economics for an exchange of knowledge with some of the most senior leaders in the field of health economics in Australia. Students will have the opportunity to engage in high level discussion with experts in the field of health economics as well as network with fellow PhD students. Six research abstracts on any topic in health economics will be competitively selected for inclusion in the program. In addition, the six papers selected for AHED will be presented in a special session at the main AHES conference.

The AHED Workshop Prize for Best Presenter will also be awarded to one of the students for excellence in their oral presentation. All students are encouraged to attend the workshop, even if not presenting.

Eligibility

The first author of each abstract must be a PhD student and the student must present work from their PhD.  Students will be invited to present at the AHED workshop based on the quality of their abstract submission to the main conference. If invited, students will be asked to prepare a paper of no more than 8,000 words in preparation for the workshop.

Abstracts submitted by PhD students to the main AHES conference will be automatically considered for the AHED workshop. (N.B. Those papers that are not selected for the AHED workshop will be automatically considered for the main AHES conference).

Abstracts should be submitted via the main abstract submission system and following the relevant guidelines for submission for the main conference (by the Sunday 26th May 2019).
